– Naphat “Tokyogurl” Warasin and Chaiyo “Cheerio” were arrested after cheating during the 33rd SEA Games (investigation called “Operation Ghostbuster”)
– Tokyogurl played for Thailand’s women’s Arena of Valor team and was caught using a fake phone setup and remote help via Discord
– Cheerio said he had been playing for Naphat since May 2025 and received financial support from her; she had promised him a new iPhone for winning
– Referees noticed suspicious activity during a match against Vietnam and the scheme unraveled when officials changed the password in the final round
– The Thai Esports Federation and Garena banned Naphat for life and her team TALON terminated her contract on December 16, 2025
– Both defendants pleaded guilty, are charged under the Computer Crime Act of 2007, could face up to two years in prison and a 40,000 baht fine; court decision set for March 17, 2026
