– Phil Spencer is retiring as Microsoft Gaming CEO and will remain in an advisory role through the summer
– Asha Sharma, president of Microsoft’s CoreAI product, will become CEO of Microsoft Gaming (she joined Microsoft in 2024)
– Xbox president Sarah Bond has decided to leave Microsoft (Bond was promoted to President of Xbox in 2022)
– Matt Booty has been promoted to Chief Content Officer and will work closely with Sharma
– As CEO, Sharma will oversee studios and franchises including Activision’s Call of Duty, Blizzard’s Overwatch and Diablo teams, King’s Candy Crush, Mojang’s Minecraft, and Xbox Game Studios (e.g., Playground Games, Halo Studios)
– Phil Spencer joined Microsoft in 1988 and led Xbox/Microsoft Gaming since 2014
