Bungie says Marathon will permanently ban cheaters “forever, no second chances”

– Bungie stated anyone found cheating or developing cheats will be permanently banned from playing Marathon (no second chances).
– An appeals system will exist to address any issues in detection.
– Marathon will use dedicated servers that are “fully authoritative” for combat and looting and “new networking systems” to keep movement responsive while the server tracks bullets.
– Fog of War on the game server is intended to subvert wall hacks and loot revealers.
– Players disconnected during a run can reconnect to their shell, and if disconnects are due to Bungie’s server or network infrastructure they will get their starting gear back.
– A Server Slam runs Feb 26–Mar 2 with two maps (Perimeter, Dire Marsh) available ahead of the game’s March 5 launch.
– Marathon launches March 5 on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X; Season 1 will add maps Outpost and Cryo Archive, Ranked Mode, and full faction progression trees and Contracts.
